About Us

It started largely with the intent to 'never work a day in your life by doing what you love'.  Well, we love shooting, and targets are a natural follow-on to that.  Red Hound LLC was born!  We set out to create innovative, and never before seen target products that make range time more fun, more convenient, and allow for more effective training. We’ve managed to introduce some of those creations already while expanding our standard target lines, but there's a ton more to come!

We also decided that while we’re at it, we want to do something to give back to the folks who keep us well stocked in the freedom department. That’s why Red Hound donates 10% of our net profits to charities that benefit our troops and veterans.

As for the owner: He’s been into shooting since as far back as he can remember. Starting out plinking cans with a good old ‘Red Ryder’, he then got into competitive 4 position small bore competition on his high school rifle team, and ended up going to Camp Perry for the nationals. He got a degree in mechanical engineering which helped lead to the interest in making targets - particularly mounting systems and ways to make shooting steel even more fun. Ultimately, selling targets allows him to combine his love of shooting and of creating things in one activity. He has a ton of fun designing Red Hound targets, and wants you to have just as much enjoyment shooting them. As for the name, Red Hound? Well that's partially from our hound mix Ranger. He may not be red, but hey, his collar is.
